Tv once on only shows half the bottom part of the screen.

When the Tv is switched on, a Samsung Model UA40D5003BR, it only shows the bottom half of the screen whilst the top part changes from black to funny colors but cant see anything. The top half gets really hot and sometimes when you give it a strong tap at the top, it shows for a while then goes back to half screeen.

@terrym that sounds like an issue with the T-Con board. Open up your TV and check that board.
