When I start car and drive there is a tapping noise

When I start car and drive there is a tapping noise I started my car this evening, and when it started there was a tapping noise, I could hear it while I was driving, in idle, pretty much until the car was turned off. I have never heard this sound before. My car says I have 55% oil life remaining. But lately the engine has been getting hotter when in idle for too long.
