Where is the flasher unit located in my car?

Where is the flasher unit located in my car? The turn signals or blinkers in my 1997 Ford Taurus GL are not working. I checked the fuses and they are fine. I'd like to replace the flasher but can't find it. Can anyone help me locate this part in my car?
