Why are my turn signals flashing rapidly with LED bulbs installed?

Why are my turn signals flashing rapidly with LED bulbs installed? My right rear turn signal bulb on my 1993 Chevy Silverado was burned out so I replaced both L &R rear with LED bulbs, the turn signal now flash's rapidly like bulbs are out but they all are working, do I need a special relay for these?
