Why does the sound keep cutting out?

Watching tv,any channel and/or movie, sound cuts out constantly for 3to5second intervals

ANSWERS:

"Hi,

Here is a link which may be of some help.

Try the 'Sound Test' first ( if it is available on your model) and if it doesn't help with finding a solution try the 'Reset' option and see if it helps.

Also, if you have an headphones connection on the TV, try it and see if the problem exists. It may be a 'speaker' problem as opposed to an audio one."

Turn off the Anynet setting. It's highjacking the TV and causes this problem.

I recently purchased a samsung UN40J5200 1080 Smart TV with preloaded apps including Netflix and Amazon. When downloading movies from EITHER app after about 20 min of watching sound sound cuts out with short irregular bursts of sound. TV verified apps were up to date. I was able to overcome problem by using a Roku model 4620X (a smart device with powerful quad processor) to connect with Netflix etc.

As Jetson said (and I tried this today and it seems to have solved the issue (which I have lived with for two years!). Go into your settings on the TV and find Anynet (which if 'on' turn 'off'). It solved the problem. The only issue seems to be that I need to manually turn the volume off on the TV because Anynet used to turn the TV volume off automatically when I used my AV receiver. That said, it's lovely to watch TV without the constant breaks in the sound - I am going to report this to Samsung....

I bought my 55 inch flat screen samsung "smart" TV last year during black friday and have had the same problem. The only fix I have found is using an apple tv instead of their smart hub.
