Why doesnt sound come out of my jack?

Why doesnt sound come out of my jack?

I have installed a new hold button combo, jack from Ifixit...and still no sound comes out of the jack. When docked, sound comes out fine...but not from the jack and yes, I have tried several pairs of earbuds.
