Why is my galaxy player 4.0 not recording any sound?

Why is my galaxy player 4.0 not recording any sound? yesterday suddenly the volume rocker of my device stucked . so i just opened the casing and fixed it . but till then no sound is recording neither in video nor in voice recorder by my device. ANSWERS:
