Why won't my wireless router turn on?

Why won't my wireless router turn on? My router is plugged into the power supply from the wall, and all cords are connected properly. The device will not power on and none of the LEDs are lighting up. What is going on?

"First, make sure that your power source is functional. Hopefully, by switching to another power source, the router will turn on and you will not need to fix anything with the router itself.

If the router is at fault, the power port may be damaged or you may need to replace your LEDs. Check the repair manuals and the Troubleshooting Guide for help."

"Verizon EOL’d the MI424WR in 2015 and you’ve probably been paying maintenance fees for quite a few years. Their current lease router is the Greenwave FiOS-G1100. While I dont recommend this because you’re taking a chance the tech will confiscate it, you may be able to get one from a grandfathered contract where there was a 1 year lease clause on paper. The newer contacts after this came out no longer have it, so it’s up to the rep. In addition, the leased ones requiring returns are flagged as unreturned equipment and will be confiscated. If you want the sanctioned lease model from Verizon, buy it new directly from Verizon. However, it isn’t uncommon for them to write the old ones off as customer owned, so it may not cost you anything to keep.

Your best bet is to get a nice 802.11ac router on the open market, especially if you don’t need phone service and can pick from the more common non-eMTA options. If you need a phone, you will need an eMTA combo unit or a dedicated cable modem like the Surfboard and a dedicated router."
