How are a meteor,meteoroidand meteorite related

A meteor is also called a falling star. When it is still outside of our planet, it is called meteor. When it pass through our atmosphere, it is now called a meteoroid. When it finally strikes the Earth's ground or surface, it is now called a meteorite.
