"Rounding means making a number simpler but keeping its value close to what it was. The result is less accurate, but easier to use. 

Example:

47 = 50

If you round it off to the nearest ten, you will get 50. It is because the number 7 is greater than 5. If the number(7) beside the other number(4) is greater than 5, add 1 to the next number. 4 + 1 = 5 = 50

34 = 30

If you round it off to the nearest ten, you will get 30. It is because the number 4 is lesser than 5. So don't add 1 to the number beside 4.

In rounding off numbers, the last figure kept should be unchanged if the first figure dropped is less than 5.

6.4 = 6

If you round it off to the nearest whole number or ones, you will get 6. The number 4 is lesser than 5 so the number 6 should not be changed."
