"A person trying to push a stalled automobile must lend forward to get the best result to apply a force that would be more than the opposing force of the automobile that makes it at rest. This person pushes the stalled car forward to apply force on it in order to make it move.

Force is either push or a pull applied to an object. In this case, a car’s direction when it is not at rest is in forward motion. However, in the situation stated in the above problem, the car is immobile. So, even if the engine does not start, the car still moves upon pushing it forward because there would be a resulting unbalanced force present and applied. The person’s push must be forward since the car’s designated direction of movement is also forward to make it move and get it started (if possible). Unbalanced forces must be applied on the same direction to make the object move.
