National Colloquium on Opportunities of Prospects for the Alternative Learning System (ALS)

In pursuit of the attainment of the Education For All (EFA) goal, the Philippine Association of Nonformal Educators, Inc. (PANFEI), in collaboration with the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) will hold the National Colloquium on Opportunities of Prospects for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) with the theme "Finding the Nemos" on August 20-21, 2012 at the Teachers Camp, Baguio City. The objectives of this Colloquium are to:

1. understand the national literacy situation vis-a-vis the access target of EFA 2015;
2. share institutional agenda and plans which contribute to increasing access to basic education; and
3. identify the priorities for ALS to meet its EFA targets.
   

The participants invited to attend this Colloquium are the following:

1. DepEd Participants
1. bureau, center and regional directors or their representatives; bureau/regional chiefs and assistant chiefs; and regional supervisors of the ALS and Formal Basic Education (FBE); and
2. schools division/city superintendents (SDSs) and assistant schools division/city superintendents (ASDSs), division supervisors of ALS and Formal Basic Education (FBE), district supervisors and principals/head teachers of elementary and secondary from both public and private schools, ALS coordinators and mobile teachers.

2. Non-DepEd participants involved in education, social and economic services for marginalized populations
1. representatives of government offices/organizations (GOs), non-government organizations (NGOs), civic society, local government units (LGUs), academe; and
2. representatives of international organizations.
   

Each participant will be charged Five Thousand Pesos (PhP5,000.00) as payment for registration fee to cover expenses for rental of the venue, handouts, kits, supplies and materials and meals during the Colloquium/activity The registration fee shall be paid in Teachers Camp to the PANFEI as the overall manager and initiator of this Colloquium.

The participants are expected to register on-site on August 20, 2012. The first meal to be served will be dinner on August 20 and the last meal will be breakfast on August 22, 2012.
