First National Secondary Level Special Education Conference-Workshop

The Department of Education (DepEd) through the Bureau of Secondary Education (BSE) will hold the First National Secondary Level Special Education Conference-Workshop with the theme "Responding to the Needs of Behaviorally Challenging Students, " on October 26-28, 2011 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center (TICC), Kaybagal South, Tagaytay City.
The activity aims to bring together secondary level special education practitioners and advocates from various areas in the Philippines so that they may share with each other the valuable experiences and lessons gained from teaching special students. The conference workshop will be highlighted by plenary and concurrent sessions and open forum.

The topics will be focused on the following:

1. Hearing and Visual Impairments
2. Autism
3. Learning Disabilities
   

The participants are regular and special education teachers, school administrators, education supervisors, service providers and advocates of secondary special education (SPED).

A registration fee of Five Thousand Pesos (PhP5,000.00) shall be charged to each participant to cover expenses for board and lodging for three (3) days, certificates, conference kit and bag. The first meal to be served will be dinner on October 25 and the last meal will be afternoon snacks on October 28, 2011. The Division SPED Coordinators are requested to confirm the number of participants from their respective divisions on or before September 30, 2011.

The registration fee, travel expenses and other incidental expenses shall be charged to local funds subject to its availability and the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. The participants from private schools shall make their own financial arrangements with their respective schools or sponsoring institutions.
