Vaugirard-De La Salle University-DepEd Scholarship Program for SY 2012-2013

This is to announce the Vaugirard Scholarship Program for the School Year (SY) 2012-2013 of De La Salle University (DLSU) in participation of the Department of Education (DepEd). The selection process will run from September 30, 2011 to March 30, 2012.
This scholarship will provide deserving public high school graduates with the opportunity to avail of Lasallian Education in any baccalaureate degree program.

All secondary schools from eighty four (84) targeted divisions (list enclosed) may open the application to their Top Ten (10) fourth (4th) year students.

The scholars will receive the following benefits and privileges:
  1. Full waiver of tuition, miscellaneous and other fees (as indicated on the Enrollment Assessment Form) from the first term until the conclusion of any undergraduate program (excluding ladderized baccalaureate-master's program);
  2. Monthly stipend of Ten Thousand Pesos (PhP10,000.00) to cover accommodation at the Lasallian Center, meals, transportation, books and other expenses;
  3. An incentive equivalent to the stipend for one month for those graduating with Latin honors; and
  4. Other privileges such as an advance enrolment, waiver of adjustment fee, waiver of graduation fees and the like.
The Application forms may be downloaded from September 30 to October 14, 2011 at http://www.dlsu.edu.ph/admissions/undergraduate/application_vsp_deped. These forms are also available in the eighty three (83) targeted divisions within the same date. The accomplished forms shall be submitted to the school heads/principal who shall forward the application forms and the certified list of top ranking graduating students to their respective schools division/city superintendents (SDSs). The SDS shall choose the top 65 applicants and submit the list to Mr. Gene de Guzman of the Office of the Secretary, DepEd Central Office, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City on or before October 26, 2011. The pre-qualified examinees will be informed by the division office (DO) through a letter on or before November 7, 2011.

Upon receipt of the letter, the pre-qualified examinees must submit the following requirements to their respective DOs before the examination dates:
  1. certified correct secondary scholastic records (format enclosed);
  2. two (2) recommendations (format enclosed) from any two of the following officials: (i) high school principal; (ii) class adviser; and (iii) guidance counselor;
  3. three (3) identical passport photographs; and
  4. photocopy of National Statistics Office (NSO) Birth Certificate.
These requirements shall be forwarded to the DepEd Central Office and submitted to the DLSU Administrations Office on or before November 14, 2011.

The DLSU College Admission Test for the Vaugirard Scholarship Program will be administered on the following dates in different DepEd testing centers:

On the examination day, the examinees should bring with them proof of inclusion in the list of the top rank graduating students of their school as certified by the school heads, and their school IDs. Since their testing fees are waived, it is imperative for the examinees to bring such requirements.

The results of the DLSU Admission Test may be accessed in January 2012. The individual status letters will also be mailed to all the applicants.

Only those who are among the top 120 examinees from the Philippine public high schools will qualify for the scholarship. Those who meet the initial qualification requirements will be informed that they have been pre-qualified and will be invited for a screening. The pre-qualified candidates will have to submit the following requirements to confirm their participation in the screening process:
  1. Letter of Intent;
  2. Latest Income Tax Return or Certificate of Non-Employment from Parents or Guardians;
  3. Latest Electricity Bill;
  4. Inventory of Household Applicants Using Scholarship and Financial Assistance Form); and
  5. Vicinity Map of Residence.
Upon compliance of the abovementioned requirements, the candidates wi11 be notified of the schedule for interview by the University selection committee. The selection committee will review the candidates' qualifications and make the final selection of the fifty (50) students who will be grantees of the Vaugirard Scholarship Program.

Under the sub-heading, Requirements for Maintaining the Scholarship of the scholarship brochure, the terms and conditions state that a grantee is not allowed to avail of other scholarship programs. Please note that the grantee may avail of other scholarships and combine them with the Vaugirard Scholarship for as long as they are government-sponsored such as DOST-SEI Merit Scholarships, S&T Scholarships, etc.
