House members today wished Rep. Manny Pacquiao well on his boxing rematch against Mexican fighter Juan Manuel Marquez, as they expressed confidence the solon will win the fight with his punching power, speed, stamina, wit and wisdom.
"Manny always takes his training seriously and never underestimates his opponent. We will match his boxing prowess with our prayers for his safety and victory," said Climaco.
Rep. Magtanggol Gunigundo (2nd District, Valenzuela City) said Pacquiao will undoubtedly win the rematch against Marquez because the lawmaker is the stronger and wiser boxer.
"Years of winning different titles have made Manny truly a great boxer. The rematch will showcase his added speed skill and punching power that will doom Marquez," said Gunigundo, a Deputy Majority Leader.
Rep. Rodolfo Albano (1st District, Isabela) said Pacquiao's fight will once again unite Filipinos around the world in cheering and praying for his victory over Marquez.
"We wish Manny the best on his forthcoming fight against Marquez which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Manny has all the elements to win the bout which are wisdom, stamina, speed, punching power and self-confidence. Once again, let us pray for Divine protection of Manny and his expected triumph that will give our nation honor and pride," said Albano, a former Minority Leader.
Rep. Simeon Datumanong (2nd District, Maguindanao) said Pacquiao has the global respect and support on his bout against Marquez because he has all the assets of a true champion.
"Manny moves fast, is strong and is wise. He will definitely prevail in his rematch against Marquez. We urge everyone to pray for Manny's safety, endurance and ultimate victory," said Datumanong, a former deputy speaker for Mindanao.
Rep. Giorgidi Aggabao (4th District, Isabela) said the forthcoming bout will show Pacquiao is able and ready to defend his WBO welterweight belt from Marquez.
"Manny fought and worked hard to earn his world titles. Come Saturday, he will demonstrate his boxing power and skill, and successfully defend his WBO welterweight belt from Marquez. We are fully convinced he will win the bout," said Aggabao, a vice chairman of the House committee on ways and means.
Rep. Jose Aquino II (1st District, Agusan del Norte) said Pacquiao is well prepared to face Marquez and put a closure on their long years of rivalry by defeating him during their much-awaited bout this Saturday.
