National Seminar-Workshop on Jazz Chants and the Speech Arts

The Center for the Professional Advancement of Educators (CPAE) will conduct its National Seminar-Workshop on Jazz Chants and the Speech Arts with the theme Jazz Chants and the Speech Arts: Making the 21st Century Classroom Fun on the following dates and venues:

August 9-11, 2013Naga Regent Hotel
63 Elias Angeles, Naga City
August 16-18, 2013San Luis del Mar
Baccuit Norte, Bauang, La Union

The Seminar-Workshop aims to:
  1. acquaint participants with the various forms of speech arts such as oration, declamation, dramatic monologue, interpretative reading of poetry, choral speaking, chamber theater, and readers theater, as well as jazz chants;
  2. train them on these forms of speech arts and jazz chants as strategies for teaching; and
  3. equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to become trainers in relevant speech competitions.
The target participants to these activities are school administrators, supervisors, principals/school heads (SHs), coordinators, English/Filipino/Literature teachers from both public and private schools and other interested individuals.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
