admin 2

As part of its 75th anniversary celebration, the Board of Trustees of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has approved the enhanced GSIS Scholarship Program (GSP) for School Year (SY) 2012-2013 which will provide low-income GSIS members the opportunity to send their children to colleges and universities.

DepEd employees who are regular members of the GSIS and have a salary grade of 24 or below, or its equivalent, can nominate their children to this program. Nominees whose parent/s have the lowest salary grades will be given priority in the scholarship grant. Nominees must be incoming college freshmen accepted in any of the schools identified by the GSIS: The deadine for submission of nominees is on or before June 30, 2012.

For SY 2012-2013, a total of two hundred (200) slots will be granted. Each scholar shall be entitled to the actual cost of tuition and miscellaneous fees not exceeding Twenty Thousand Pesos (PhP20,000.00) and a monthly stipend of Two Thousand Pesos (PhP2,000.00). The scholars may opt to take a four (4) or five (5)-year course, provided that they meet the scholastic requirements set by the school for student retention.

The complete list of GSIS-accredited educational institutions, the application form and the program's guidelines are downloadable in the GSIS website address at www.gsis.gov.ph or may be secured from any GSIS Office.
