"In consonance with the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) on achieving Education for All (EFA) by the year 2015, it is hereby declared the policy of the State to provide equal opportunities for all children to avail of accessible mandatory and compulsory kindergarten education that effectively promotes physical, social, intellectual, emotional, and skills stimulation and values formation to sufficiently prepare them for formal elementary schooling ..."
"... It is also the policy of the State to make education learner-oriented and responsive to the needs, cognitive and cultural capacity, the circumstances and diversity of learners, schools and community."
The Tahderiyyah Curriculum being implemented in Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) operated Islamic Community Schools has been developed through the collaborative effort of BDA, Community of Learners Foundation, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Department of Education (DepEd) observing the curriculum development process.
The Tahderiyyah Curriculum is intended for five-year old Muslim pupils in schools under the BDA Operated Islamic Community Schools. The standards and competencies of the curriculum are aligned with the National Kindergarten Curriculum implemented similarly through the use of its respective Forty-Week Curriculum Guide. This Curriculum also compliments with the Madrasah Kindergarten Curriculum implemented and organized in kindergarten classes in all public schools under the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) Program and in government assisted private madaris.
In view of the foregoing, DepEd recommends for its use in non-DepEd schools under the BDA Operated Islamic Community Schools and private madaris not receiving the government financial assistance.
