DENNON AVR-3300 remote works fine but will not turn on AVR power

DENNON AVR-3300 remote works fine but will not turn on AVR power I've had this unit for years and it works fine. Recently the POWER ON button on the remote will not power the receiver on. All the other remote operations work fine. ANSWERS:
