Old LG tv screen flickers on and off when trying to power the tv off

this could be an issues with the power board or the main board as well as some loose ribbon cables. You do want to go ahead and remove the back of your TV. Check the boards for obvious damage like bulging or leaking capacitors etc. Post some good pictures of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see.
