Removing the front passenger side cv joint on 2002 Dodge Ram?

Removing the front passenger side cv joint on 2002 Dodge Ram? trying to get the passenger side cv joint removed can't remove the axles, was told to remove a 8mm bolt (can't locate one) to get the cross-shaft holding the spider gear. I'm not sure what the "actualater" is but was told to remove it to get the axle off.
