Should I still try to replace the battery on my own

The battery is no longer holding a charge very long. The hold switch also no longer works. Should I still try to replace the battery on my own. I noticed the instructions to replace the battery state to slid the hold switch on before opening up the iPod.

answers:

"If you're careful to not turn the iPod on while repairing, it shouldn't be a problem. The hold switch statement is just a safeguard against an iPod turning on when in the midst of a repair.

For whatever it's worth, I definitely recommend replacing the hold switch when replacing the battery! They are right on top of each other, and the most difficult part of the repair is opening the case. Just be very careful with the battery connector on the logic board.

Good luck!"

Thanks guys! Well, I am going to give it shot on my own now. First I will order the tools and battery.

You should definitely try it yourself, here is the step-by-step guide you will need to guide you through the installation.
