test a led bulb with a multimeter?
How do I test a led bulb with a multimeter?

"Hi @richsailor,

Measuring a LED bulb “in circuit” may lead to false readings and may not be an accurate view of the state of the LED

Unsolder one leg of the LED from the circuit board and then connect the multimeter leads across the LED.

Set up the multimeter for diode test if it has it.

The meter will show a small voltage reading when the leads are connected across the LED in one direction and OL when the leads are reversed.

If the meter displays OL in both directions the LED is faulty.

If the meter doesn’t have a diode test function set the meter to read Ohms.

In one direction the meter will measure anywhere from 700 Ohms to many MegOhms.

In the other direction it should measure OL or open circuit.

Here’s a link that explains it better than I can."
