Microsoft made its biggest acquisition when it forked out close to $69 billion in an all-cash deal for Activision Blizzard. One of the biggest game developers — with titles like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Candy Crush — Activision Blizzard is now a part of Microsoft’s expanding gaming portfolio. After the acquisition, Microsoft CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella wrote an email to the company’s employees, as per a report by The Verge. In the email, Nadella said that how gaming has always been integral part of Microsoft. He also announced that Phil Spencer will now be the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, according to The Verge.
