The citation is given in connection with the monthly accident statistics requirement mandated by Section 16.4 of the Revised Geothermal Safety and Health Rules and Regulations being enforced by DOE. The award certified that MGI's regular and contractors' employees have achieved a safety milestone of 505,121 man-hours worked without lost time accident from the date of contract award on February 1, 20120 to June 30, 2012.
MGI President F.G. Delfin Jr. received the safety award on behalf of MGI employees and its principal shareholders - PetroEnergy Resources Corp., Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp., and PNOC Renewables Corp. (PNOC-RC).
In thanking the DOE for the safety citation, Delfin stressed MGI's continuing commitment to safety as a core value and operating principle of the company. He also disclosed that as of mid-July, 2012, the construction of the steamfield fluid gathering system is 34.7% finished, the power plant engineering, procurement, and construction being undertaken by EEI Corp. is 35% complete, and the manufacture of the major plant equipment by Fuji Electric has reached 43% completion. MGI is currently drilling two geothermal wells to complete the steam supply and reinjection requirement for the 20 MW power plant which it aims to commission by late 2013.
