First Teodoro Valencia Search for Outstanding Campus Publications and Journalists

In honor of the revered late journalist, Teodoro Valencia, the Ignite Media in cooperation with the Teodoro V. Foundation will conduct the First Teodoro Valencia Search for Outstanding Campus Publications and Journalists on December 9-10, 2011 at the JCSGO Christian Academy, Cubao, Quezon City. The Search aims to give students/campus-journalists an avenue to improve their craft while having a healthy competition with their fellow campus scribes and to recognize the outstanding school paper advisers.

Participating students and advisers will be given a battery of tests on news writing, editorial writing, feature writing, sports writing, copyreading and headline writing and digital photojournalism.

Each student-participant shall be charged a registration fee of Two Hundred Fifty Pesos (PhP250.00) and each teacher-participant, One Hundred Fifty Pesos (PhP 150.00) if they are interested to become members of the School Paper Editors and Advisers Network (SPEAN).

Registration begins on November 14, 2011 at the Ignite Media Center from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Each school may send a maximum of five (5) participants per publication.
