The Seminar-Workshops aims to:
- identify the indicators of specific learning disabilities in the classroom by assessing the student’s reading skills, specifically in the areas of fluency, comprehension, writing and spelling;
- identify the indicators of gifted children with SLD (Twice Exceptional) and how to address the needs of both the gift and the disabilities; and
- provide information on assessment procedures and tests.
The target participants to this activity are school principals, school administrators, policy makers, local government officials, non-government organizations (NGOs), general classroom, special education (SPED) teachers, guidance counselors, psychologists, nurses, occupational, speech therapists, auxiliary service providers, parents and students in related field.
Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled "Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.”
