the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Manila Bay
Coordinating Office (DENR-MBCO), Kabataang Sama-Samang Maglilingkod
(KASAMA), Inc., Miriam Public Education and Awareness Campaign for the
Environment (PEACE) and the Department of Education-Center for Students
and Co-Curricular Affairs (DepEd-CSCA), will conduct the Youth for
Environment Summer (YES) Camp on April 9-12, 2013 at the Teachers Camp and
Baguio Country Club Multi-Purpose Hall, Baguio City.

With its theme, "Handa Ka Na Ba?" (Climate Change Adaptation: The Next Level)," the YES Camp emphasizes the significance of climate change adaptation and steps up awareness and action to achieve a level of preparedness among individuals, schools and communities nationwide. It is anchored on Republic Act (RA) No. 9512 (Environmental Awareness and Education Act of 2008) and Republic Act (RA) No. 9729 (Climate Change Act of 2009). It seeks to achieve the following objectives:
learn about the science of Climate Change and its effects in the country;
inculcate among pupils, students and teachers the importance and relevance of Climate Change Adaptation and Preparedness;
develop pupils and students' deeper awareness on the state of the environment, focusing on significant issues and concerns;
encourage pupils and students' active participation and determined concrete action in the protection, preservation and rehabilitation of the environment;
instill environmental values in every pupil and student to motivate actual involvement in worthwhile programs, projects and activities for the environment; and
strengthen the implementation of the YES Program pursuant to DepEd Order No. 52, s. 2011 (Strengthening Environmental Education in Public and Private Schools) and DepEd Order No. 93, s. 2011 (Mandated Programs, Projects and Activities, Various Forms, and Targets Pertinent to the Youth for Environment in Schools Program).
Activities during the YES Camp include interactive and fun plenary sessions, break-out sessions, panel discussions, action planning, outdoor activities and contests such as Speech Choir, Environmental Quiz, Debate, Sayaw at Awit sa Kalikasan (SAYAWIT), On-the-Spot Poster-Making, Search for the Lakambini and Lakan ng Kalikasan, YES-O Exhibit and Spotlight featuring YES-O success stories on environmental action and initiative. The Camp also features the Kabataang Bayani ng Kalikasan Awards and YES Program Awards. Guidelines for the YES Program Awards shall be contained in a separate DepEd Memorandum.
Participants to the camp are the officers, members and teacher-advisers of the YES-0, Supreme Pupil Government (SPG) and Supreme Student Government (SSG), other interested pupils, students and teacher-advisers of other school-based organizations implementing environmental programs, projects and activities in both public and private elementary and secondary schools nationwide, including school heads (SHs) and supervisors handling Science.
Participation and any award received in this camp shall be credited to the co-curricular points of the pupils/students for School Year (SY) 2012-2013.
Travel of participants shall be on official business. A registration fee of Four Thousand Eight Hundred Pesos (PhP4,800.00) shall be charged to each participant to cover accommodation and meals from dinner of Day 1 to breakfast of Day 5, use of venue, lights and sound services, training kits, certificates, reproduction of modules, environmental magazines, trophies, cash prizes, transportation, honoraria of speakers, facilitators, guests, and entertainers, T-shirts and bags, supplies and materials, and other incidental expenses of the Camp, chargeable to local funds/local school board funds, or sourced from the Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs) and private organizations.
Regional directors (RDs), schools division/city superintendents (SDSs) and school heads are encouraged to send participants to the YES Camp.
The Schedule of Activities and Contest Guidelines are enclosed as Enclosure Nos. 1 and 2.

I am from Camarines Norte State College. We attended the YES-O Camp last May 2012 at Baguio City. We pay the reg fee, however until now we haven't received yet our bags which are supposed to be delived to us through LBC. May we know if when can you deliver to us the said items? thanks.
