broken LCD screen on my E520 camera - is it worth trying to repair?

I accidently set my Olympus Evolt E520 camera down on the LCD screen against a hard surface and cracked the screen . When I turn on the camera, only a bright light appears in the LCD screen area. The menu is not visible, no picture shows up after pressing the shutter release.
