Why does the light setting lights not work?

Why does the light setting lights not work?

The light setting indicators are not lighting up anymore when I turn the dials and so I thought it was the batteries which wasn't the case. The red light is turning on but the indicators are not working at all. I would appreciate any advice, thank you!
