Why won't my tablet's screen respond to touch?

My tablet is on, but I am unable to use it because my touchscreen is not working. I tried resetting my tablet, but when I turned it back on, my screen was still not responding to touch. Why won't my tablet's screen respond to touch?

Wow what rude responses for this question. If the touch does not work after the reset you tried and there is not a screen protector on it, I would replace the screen. The screen on the Galaxy Tab 3 is not a difficult one to swap out. If you need any help doing it, there are guides on this site for you. Hope you find the fix.

if your android system is not responding and stuck in the same page even if u are trying to make it on/off and still staying in that page just press on the power button hardly at least for 10 sec and ur android system will shut down and just switch it on

We have an Asus tablet that first had intermittent touchscreen problems such as non responsive areas on the screen and ghost touches. All the factory resets and software updates did not help at all. We bought and installed the new digitizer screen - no change.

Same thing happened to me here is my solution. 1. Do a force rest by pressing both volume buttons and lock button. After rest your screen will still 'lock up' again if you lock your screen so be careful. 2. Do a update of your tablet. This fixed my problem. However I did not drop my tablet. It was a operating error.
