Will the controller work if I disconnect the wires to the rumble motor

Hello everyone. My questions is. Will my Xbox one elite controller still work if I disconnect the wiring on the rumble motors? One I don't want the vibration anyways, but I'm trying to change out my buttons but it's a pain to trying and change them with those wires in the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated
