How do I replace the power button on my Brother HL-L2380DW?

How do I replace the power button on my Brother HL-L2380DW? Printer works but power button is stuck in down position and doesn’t respond to efforts to turn it off. Have unplugged it, massaged the button in circular motion, etc. No change to button position.

"Hi @op1733 ,

I don’t know the printer but looking at an image from the parts list for the printer, it appears that the Power On/Off switch is mounted on the panel pcb and is not an individually mounted switch.

The switch may be stuck in the operated position or its actuating button may be broken perhaps.

The Brother part number for the board is LT3173001 and is shown as 1-2 LT3173001 1 PANEL PCB ASSY HL-L2380DW in the parts list. (The “1-2” matches the legend in the image above)

Here’s the relevant page of the service manual that shows how to remove the panel unit so that you can access the board to check or replace the switch, the actuator button or to replace the board if necessary. Replacement boards are available online. Just search for LT3173001 to get results for suppliers that suit you.

The service manual IS for your model so don’t get confused by the title at the top of the page I linked. Go to p.1 of the manual to see all the models that are covered by this manual.

Hopefully this is of some help."
