My charging port does not make contact, how can I change it.

My charging port does not make contact, how can I change it.

My Magellan roadmate 1220 has its charging port damaged, where could I send this in to get fixed?, or can I purchase the parts and find someone locally to do it for me? it is not the charger I was told, I took it into a local Radio Shack store and a new charger did not make contact.
