A spring popped out of the door release button/latch-how to fix?

A spring popped out of the door release button/latch-how to fix? How do I get the spring back into the door latch release - where and how does it go back? The door will open but the button has to be pushed back in with your finger. Where does the spring go behind the the latch plate? ANSWERS:
