The drive is msde by Toshiba having the Model No. SD-M1612 and a Serial No. 2768107255.

Guy, the SD-M1612 is a straight forward 16X48X ATAPI IDE DVD ROM DRIVE. you can get the manual for it from here. The drive is avaiable at multiple places like Ebay.com and amazon.com. This place says they have an original replacement. Hope this helps, good luck.
