Freezer temp too low if left closed for extended period

Freezer temp too low if left closed for extended period Three times our freezer temp has risen to the point where ice melts. Cleaned the mess and everything works well again. Have noticed the pattern is this happens when we are away and the doors are not opened from normal use. Its a Whirlpool ed5vhgxmq10. Sensor related?
