I have a red x when I turn on my iPod
i have reset my ipod and it still wont boot up or register on my computer
ANSWERS:
The red x has more to do with it not booting than not charging. If it doesn't boot, try to put it in recovery mode (hold center and down button as you plug in usb cord) and restore it. Do you hear a clicking and grinding sound from inside? Then it's your hard drive. Is the iPod just silent, then it is most likely an issue with your motherboard. From my experience with this I am leaning toward a worn HDD. Sorry but I hope this helps.
