Magic box will not charge or operate when plugged in.

Magic box will not charge or operate when plugged in. When I plug it in, the light turns red for a short while and turns off. Believe it normally remains red till charged and light changes to blue. Wonder if battery needs to be replaced. If so, where can I purchase the battery. Thanks so much for your help! ANSWERS:
