My tv turns on with no picture but has sound
What is wrong with my tv, the screen is clearly on and i can seen the screen bright from the side but its just showing a black screen.

when you say the screen is on, you are probably referring to the backlight being on. If you can’t see any shapes, silhouettes and/or have no video at all, you could most like have a bad main board. Vizio is known to have some connector issue. Make sure that all connectors on your power board and main board are still properly atached and not to loose.
You do want to go ahead and check each input source. So, reconnect your cable box and try a HDMI, Composite and/or Coax input as well. See if that makes a difference. If not remove the back from your TV and take a look at the boards. Let us know what model this is and post some good pictures of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see.
