Red Light turns on when plugged in, but speakers won't turn on.

Red Light turns on when plugged in, but speakers won't turn on.
The speakers will charge (red light comes on during charging phase), but the unit will not turn on. Seems to be the power button (it still clicks but there is no response by the speakers). 1) is this common? 2) is it possible to fix the power button? 3) how much does Bose usually charge for this?
