Replaced the battery and it still gives me the support face

Replaced the battery and it still gives me the support face I Put a new battery in becuase Apple said it was bad. Installed perfect. Plug it back in and it wont charge still, gives me a sad face and says to contact iPod support and the low battery picture pops up every 15 seconds or so. what else could be wrong? ANSWERS:
