tv goes black, but comes back on if I tap the screen

tv goes black, but comes back on if I tap the screen

My LG is an older tv bought in 2013. It’s a plasma tv. Lately the screen has started going black. If I tap the screen, it comes back on, or if I turn off the tv, turn it back on, the screen will come back on…..seems to act like a loose connection or something of that sort.
