vintage fan .the Isolation is stuck ,can it be fixed?

vintage fan .the Isolation is stuck ,can it be fixed? the Isolation is stuck,the knob is off and it keeps trying to do it and “stuttering” in it attempt .if I use it will it burn out the motor ? and can it be fixed ? ANSWERS:
