Why does my smok stick v9 only go to yellow indicator light?

Why does my smok stick v9 only go to yellow indicator light?
My Smok stick v9 only went to yellow “manual says should be orange" battery indication then ran out of battery. It never reached red. The only time I saw the red indicator was when I checked the battery life after it had died.
