19th Annual World Children's Picture Contest

The World Children's Picture Contest has been held as part of its cultural activities since 1993 in order to promote awareness of the importance of nature and agriculture as well as to encourage friendship and goodwill among children around the world and to help them develop well-rounded characters.

The contest is being supported and sponsored by various organizations and government agencies in Japan, among them are the: Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

This year, the IE-NO-HIKARI Association is again inviting Filipino children aged 6 to 15 years old to participate in the 19th Annual World Children's Picture Contest.

The artworks must depict this year's theme in agriculture, farming area, nature environment, people, family and cooperation. A "Memorial Prize of IYC" will be given to the artworks which are worthy for the commemoration "International Year of Co-operatives (IYC) in 2012".

The results of the contest will be posted in its website http: / /www.einohikari.net/zugacom by the end of January 2012. Likewise, participants will be informed individually. The Association will put together the awarded works into a commemorative book, and wi11 also send the book to all the participating organizations/individuals.
