Training/ Orientation for Elementary School Heads and Teachers of the DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) Recipient Schools (Batch 6)

In view of the deployment of e-classroom package under the DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) and in support of the thrust of the Department of Education (DepEd) to upgrade its human resource capabilities,. the Bureau of Elementary Education (BEE) shall conduct the Training/ Orientation for Elementary School Heads and Teachers of the DCP Recipient Schools in cluster areas found in the table below. This will be conducted in cooperation with the DepEd's private sector partners: Microsoft Partners in Learning, Intel Text2Teach and the British Council.

The training aims to: (a) enhance the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy of participants; (b) develop ICT leadership of school heads; (c) hone their skills in using ICT in the teaching-learning process; and (d) familiarize them of the existing DepEd ICT systems.

In view of the nationwide implementation of the Learning Resource Management and Development System (LRMDS) of the Strengthening Implementation of the Basic Education in Selected Provinces in Visayas (STRIVE) developed in Regions VI, VII and VIII, the training shall also serve as a venue to orient the teachers and school heads on LRMDS processes and mechanisms. This activity shall likewise enable the creation of critical mass of personnel supportive of ICT enabled learning environments in public elementary schools.

The participants to this activity are the teachers and school heads of the DCP recipient schools (Batch 6). Selected Central Office personnel shall attend the one-day orientation on the LRMDS implementation in the Luzon Cluster on June 12, 2011.The trainers are certified ICT trained personnel of Microsoft, Intel, British Council and Project STRIVE/SPHERE.

The allocation of participants per region (Enclosure No. 1) and the list of Batch 6 recipients schools (Enclosure No. 2) are enclosed.

The incidental expenses including transportation and board and lodging of participants except the trainers from Microsoft, Intel, British Council and Project STRIVE and SPHERE shall be charged against the DepEd Human Resource Training and Development (HRTD) funds. The DepEd shall provide for the travel expenses and per diem for two (2) days (1 day before and one (1) day after) in going to and from the venue at the most economical mode of transportation.

The participants are advised to bring their own WiFi ready laptops with at least an operating system of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 and are expected to follow the registration schedule in the table below.
