- gather information on the different towns and cities of the Philippines that can be uploaded in the PRA website which will be made available to foreign nationals and investors;
- promote awareness among the youth about the various assets present in their towns and cities;
- develop the research thinking and communication skills of the youth including their familiarity with correct grammar, spelling, and writing style; and
- publicize the winning entries, both locally and internationally, through the different government and private websites.
The entries may be accepted starting May 2, 2011. The deadline for submission is on or before September 30, 2011. PRA reserves the right to extend the deadline. Such extension will be publicly announced.
The following prizes will be received by the winners for each of the high school and college categories:
Grand Prize PhP50,000.00 + Plaque of RecognitionThe top three (3) winners, the five (5) honorable mention awardees, and the school representatives of the top three (3) winners from each category shall be required to attend the awarding ceremonies on October 28, 2011 .
Second Prize PhP30,000.00 + Plaque of Recognition
Third Prize PhP20,000.00 + Plaque of Recognition
Five (5) Honorable Mention Awardees will receive PhP5,000.00 each.
The schools and universities for both categories will receive the following prizes:
Grand Prize = PhP15,000.00 + Plaque of Recognition
Second Prize = PhP10,000.00 + Plaque of Recognition
Third Prize = PhP5,000.00 + Plaque of Recognition
All monetary prizes are subject to 20% withholding tax.

Announcement of Winners
An official statement coming from the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) relesed last December 1, 2011.
In view of the anticipated 1st PRA National Essay Writing Contest results, as previously scheduled to be released yesterday, November 30, 2011, this is to officially announce that the Selection Committee has concurred to course through and disseminate the names of the selected finalists and winners of this contest to their respective schools and universities.
There are eight (8) winners from the High School Level, and eight (8) winners from the College Level categories whose identities are going to be verified prior to a general public announcement.
Again, please bear with us, as we conclude this activity in time to reward these young writers in time for the Season of Christmas.
