Professional Enhancement for Teachers (PET) Project

The Office of Congresswoman Maria Isabelle G. Climaco, Representative, First Congressional District, City of Zamboanga will conduct the Professional Enhancement for Teachers (PET) Project by cluster from May 30 to June 4, 2011 at the Southern City Colleges, Pilar Street, Zamboanga City. This Project aims to:

1. give an opportunity for the teachers to undergo training that will not only cater to a few but also to the entire public school teaching population in Zamboanga City;
2. provide them a venue for further enhancement of the teaching methodologies, trends and other technical know-how as tools in improving their teaching styles in school;
3. set the trends in teaching methodologies recognized by education authorities and give these teachers additional asset in their professional careers; and
4. pave the way for the intellectual discourse between the participating educators and resource speakers creating an interpersonal learning millieu that will enable educators to understand emerging teaching philosophies.
   

All teachers who are teaching special education, adult learning program, elementary and secondary education from Congressional Districts 1 and 2 of the City of Zamboanga are encouraged to participate. They shall be offered courses such as the following: Guidance Counseling; Classroom Management and Teaching; Emerging Innovative Trends; Language Proficiency; and Communication. They will be given the chance to choose two (2) courses of their interest. Certificates will be issued per course to the participants.
