Di(ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) chemical structure
DEHP can cause cardiotoxicity, obesity, smaller penis, shorter anogenital distance, endocrine disruption and many other bad effects (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bis(2-ethylhexyl)_phthalate).
According to the FDA, Taiwanese authorities have discovered that the plasticizer Di(ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) was illegally added to a food product as a clouding agent to improve emulsification of the product. Due to this report, FDA issued an advisory to all consumers likes us, to distributors, importers, retailers, institutions, food service establishments and manufacturers concerning the list of selected brands of imported food products believed to be contaminated with DEHP.

From the list, FDA implements the following actions:
- Products whether registered or not with the FDA but identified in the list shall be recalled and disposed of accordingly.
- Products that are not identified in the list but are unregistered with the FDA shall also be recalled and disposed.
- Lastly, products that are registered but not identified in the list shall be withdrawn from the market and laboratory analyses shall be required from them to confirm the absences of DEHP. Only then shall the products be allowed for redistribution
For consumers
- Do not use products that have been recalled and throw them away in a manner that prevents others form consuming them
- Persons who think they may have become ill from consuming the affected products are advised to consult their health care providers.
- Stop importing and selling the recall products
- Ensure that recalled products are not served
- Cease and desist from purchasing or requiring from the implicated products
- Inform consumers about whether their products could contain the DEHP substance from their sources in Taiwan which are affected. If a manufacturer knows their products do not contain DEHP, they should inform consumers of that.
